Are You Still Using a Free Blog Host Such as Blogger or WordPress.com?

wpbr_services_art2Free web hosting sites like Google’s Blogger (Blogspot) and WordPress. com offer an easy way to begin your web presence. However, the serious blogger– especially with business interests– needs a more permanent web space for the long term. Every week blog sites on these and other hosts disappear, destroying countless hours of labor and years of hard-earned search. There is no possibility of recovery after this happens. I have experienced this myself. Don’t let it happen to you. The free hosts are great for supplementary web traffic, but it is unwise to depend on them. If you have a significant investment of effort in one of these sites, I strongly recommend you look into migrating your site to an independent web hosting arrangement. With your site safely positioned on your own hosted website with it’s own domain name and the WordPress.org content management system, you will have a stable blog site for the long term. You will have the peace of mind of knowing your site will be there every morning, but you can develop a valuable asset as well. In terms of web real estate, a blog on a free site is practically worthless, while an independent blog tied to your business with a steady flow of traffic can be very valuable– in hard dollars. An independent site can also be optimized more efficiently for even better search standing in the future.

There is a lot of poorly advised information floating around about how to migrate from a free blog host to self-hosting. If done incorrectly, it can cost you greatly in search standing or even loose much of the material you are trying to move. I have yet to see anything yet that tells a lay user how to fully and securely migrate. I have investigated all aspects of blog migration in great detail and specialize in safe blog recreations. I am a certified computer technician and a web designer with nearly three decades of experience with computer hardware and software technology. I can move your blog to it’s own .com (or other) site completely and safely without loss of hard-earned search standing. Every blog is different in respect to what is required to transfer, but do contact me soon if you have a blog you care about.
